Interventional Radiology Technologist

This position is responsible for performing angiography and specialized abdominal and neurovascular types of interventional radiology. Prepares patient and equipment for catheterization procedures by preparing site of entry, draping patient, arranging sterilized instruments and catheters, and calibrating and setting-up pressure transducers and tubing.
Performs specialized vascular and neuro procedures.
Assists and supports the physician during specialized vascular and neuro radiographic procedures.
Administers contrast media under direct supervision of a physician.
Assists with the department's quality control program.
Tests, monitors and maintains equipment for proper and safe operation.
Serves on a rotational call schedule for procedures after normal hours.
May act as a preceptor and instruct new technologists and students.
Ability to provide care to the population served.
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient's status and provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual.
One (1) year of experience in vascular interventional radiology or cardiovascular interventional radiology.

Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. Current licensure to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of Utah.
ARRT Registration for Vascular Interventional Radiography R.Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.
