Hotel Parking Valet Attendant

Job Summary Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner. The associate also manages parking and vehicle retrieval, assists with luggage, and ensures guests receive courteous service from arrival to departure.

Essential Functions 25% Maintain a pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with guests, co‑workers, and clients. Greet guests within five feet using a professional and friendly demeanor and addressing guests by their last name.

25% Use the day’s salutation to welcome guests, practice proper Towne Park phone etiquette, and position oneself in designated areas when not completing tasks.

10% Park and retrieve vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously. Assist guests with bell services and luggage storage; open all vehicle and hotel doors for guests.

20% Assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries. Provide information about outlets, meeting rooms, facility amenities, and main attractions in the area. Deliver messages, items, or guest amenities as requested and shuttle guests to approved locations.

10% Explain parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival. Issue claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys, collect claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys, and maintain complete ticket information (key tag, guest folio, vehicle location, damage survey, and claim check receipt).

35% Calculate and collect revenue for vehicles when needed.

Overall, all responsibilities total 100% of the associate’s time.

Qualifications High school diploma or GED.

Valid driver’s license for the applicable state.

At least one month of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of customer and personal service principles, 24‑hour and military time systems, and applicable parking rates.

Skills: Read and write standard English, understand simple instructions and memos, write simple correspondence, present information in one‑on‑one and small‑group settings, perform basic math with American currency, understand 24‑hour time, and operate a manual transmission (desired). Ability to parallel park.

Authority: Work within established practices and procedures with specific directions; decisions made within operational guidelines.

Compensation Hourly base pay range of $12 per hour plus $4–$10 per hour in tips.

Work Schedule OPEN availability.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands Jobs require talking or hearing, sitting or standing for extended periods, walking, running, handling objects, reaching with hands, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Vision abilities include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjustable focus. Lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, or 20 pounds constantly.

The majority of work is outdoors, exposing employees to extreme heat and cold weather. Employees may be required to travel up to 5% of the time.
