Lead Auditor( full time)

As a Lead Auditor, you will perform and lead various excise tax audits, assist the Revenue Audit Supervisor with program management, provide technical direction to tax technicians and other auditors, and answer questions about various excise tax programs from the public.

The Department of Revenue, Tax Division collects state taxes and administers tax laws. We also regulate charitable gaming and provide revenue estimating and economic forecasting. We promote compliance through quality service and fair administration.

Our office is in the Atwood Building, in downtown Anchorage with free parking provided. Occasional travel may be required.

• Principles of Accounting: Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, standards, and practices (for example, double entry accounting, accrual accounting), including the full accounting cycle and the preparation of work sheets, financial statements, ledgers, and journals.
• Tax Law: Knowledge of accounting and tax law for individuals, sole proprietorships, partnerships, and/or corporations.
• Technical Credibility: Understands and appropriately applies principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise.
