Job Description Administrative Assistant : Our customer in Freeport, Illinois is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join their team as a Administrative Assistant. We're recruiting for a full-time, 1st shift position. As an Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for researching public records, verifying ownership history, identifying title issues, and preparing title reports to support real estate transactions.

Responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant :
Conduct public records research through municipal, county, and state sources, including deeds, mortgages, tax assessments, judgments, and probate filings.
Trace and verify chain of ownership to confirm legal ownership and identify gaps, discrepancies, or defects in title history.
Identify encumbrances affecting properties, including unpaid taxes, mortgages, mechanics' liens, easements, restrictions, and pending legal actions.
Abstract and review key documents to prepare detailed preliminary title reports and summaries for underwriters, attorneys, and escrow agents.
Administrative Assistant Requirements and Qualifications:

• High school diploma required.
• 1-3 years of title examination, title research, real estate, legal support, or related experience preferred.
• Proficiency with title research software and public records databases.
• Strong document analysis and critical thinking abilities.
• Strong sense of direction and ability to interpret maps and legal property descriptions.
