Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our float pool, covering Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke Neuro, Step-Down ICU, and ICU units. The ideal candidate must have ICU experience and be willing to float to Medical Surgical when necessary. Extensive cardiac experience is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and state regulations.
Documents patient care in accordance with established standards.
Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care tailored to the individual needs of the patient, as prescribed by the physician and/or hospital policy, including instructions for patients and families.
Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance.
Utilizes clinical expertise to provide guidance to other units or departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care.
Employs critical thinking to ensure patient safety and enhance the patient experience, raising any concerns to the appropriate chain of command.
Shift Information
This position requires working night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with holiday coverage as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience, including ICU experience.
Current Illinois Registered Nurse License.
Certification in CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification is required.
