ELECTRICIAN JOURNEYMAN OR MASTER (FULL-TIME)

Master level electrical systems work in the alteration, installation, maintenance and repair of the City’s electrical infrastructure, wire and cable/lines. The work includes making estimates of labor and material costs, preparing plans, and ensuring the quality of both skilled and non‑skilled workmanship on building electrical repairs, renovations, remodeling, and new construction. The incumbent works in partnership with other employees, departments/divisions, agencies and the public, and performs related work as required.

Three (3) years of full‑time experience in the trade of electrician at either the master or journeyman level.

Possession of a Class “A” Master Electrical license from the State of Louisiana. Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify certifications claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification; if selected, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials before the start date.
