Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | 12-Hour Days (06:45–19:15) | 3x12 per week | 13–26 Week Assignment
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in an intermediate care setting with a sub-specialized neurological and medical intermediate patient population at a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias via telemetry; initiate and support Rapid Response and Code team activations as needed
Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips including Levophed (LEVO), heparin protocols, insulin drips, and thrombolytic agents
Manage complex neurological patients including those with CVA, intracranial bleeds, craniotomy, TBI, spinal cord injury, lumbar drains, and post-TPA care
Perform and oversee respiratory management including ventilated patients, tracheostomy care, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
Float to other intermediate areas and critical care units as needed per unit requirements; work a minimum of 3 weekend shifts every six weeks
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; experience in Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and Telemetry required
Must not be a first-time traveler; prior travel nursing experience required
Active ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Proficiency with EPIC EMR required; experience with Pyxis and SBAR communication required
Must be able to titrate Levophed (LEVO) and vasoactive/cardiac drips; must demonstrate competency in IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, PCA, and thrombolytic agent administration
Must pass EKG testing prior to start; NC or Compact RN license required (pending license acceptable for submission)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with port access/management, phlebotomy, ICP monitoring, conscious sedation, and triage
Charge nurse experience preferred
Preferred certifications include CCRN, TNCC, and CPI
