This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual who enjoys hands-on work and wants to grow in a precision manufacturing setting.Job SummaryIn support of the CNC Swiss Machining department, the CNC Swiss Operator III will assist in projects that improve and enhance the throughput of the Swiss Machining operations and personnel; supporting the technical/engineering efforts required.This is a high-profile position that has a direct impact on the technical growth of the department, driving continuous efforts, productivity, and efficiency. Key to this role is the ability to see the short-term needs and have the vision of long-term success; as well as effectively interface across all functions and business units to provide prototype support, production support, training and overall high-level performance of the CNC Swiss Department.Set up and operate computer numerical control (CNC) machines, including CNC Swiss style (sliding headstock) lathes, CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, etc. Set up simple to complex jobs to machine small diameter, close tolerance parts, including pointed parts. Set up and operate secondary equipment and perform any other functions within the department that may be necessary. Perform all tasks required of Swiss CNC Setup Operator.Role and ResponsibilitiesThe CNC Swiss Operator- III performs all tasks, roles and responsibilities of the CNC Swiss Lead without personnel management; and in addition to direct interface with support groups as needed to address engineering, quality and materials matters in a timely fashion to meet department objectives and in the best interest of customers.Keep scheduling and shop floorboards up to date, coordinating department communications within shift and across shifts within department.Communicate with co-workers, members of other shifts, technical leader, team leader and/or supervisor to transfer and receive instructions and information.Engage in strategic efforts in unison with the CNC Swiss Lead, across various functions within organization where needed in a collaborative team-based environment.Be a primary resource in the development of department personnel including but not limited to Apprentices, Operators etc.QualificationsExperience operating Citizen, Star, Tsugami CNC Swiss lathes desired or other CNC Turning Centers or CNC equipment.Experience in medical device manufacturing, aerospace, machinery, metals are desired. Must be able to read blueprints, drawings, specifications and quality plans and have strong oral and written communication skills.Good manual dexterity and ability to use measurement and inspection tools.Good work habits, strong workmanship and a positive attitude are required as well as an ability, desire and flexibility to perform a variety of machining operations and other functions within manufacturing as needed.Graduate of a vocational school in manufacturing/machining or engineering discipline is a plus. 5 to 7 years' experience in a small device manufacturing environment as a Swiss CNC Operator-III or Lead is required.Subject to physical hazards from moving equipment and machine partsConstant safety glassesConstant full PPE in clean roomFrequent standingOccasional sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, reaching.What We Offer:On-the-job training and advancement opportunitiesCompetitive hourly wage + shift differentials (2nd & 3rd Shift)Great benefits like health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; Paid time off, sick time and holiday payEmployee Assistance Program/ Tuition Reimbursement
