Diagnostic Radiographer

Under the direction of the Director of Radiology and the Chief Radiologist, technologist are responsible for the care and safety of patients radiographic procedures; use of radiographic equipment; The Department of Radiology at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital is a consultative service that will provide services in the following categories: diagnostic radiology, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, computed tomography, interventional radiography, MRI, bone density and mammography. The department offers services 24 hours a day, seven days a week to inpatients, outpatients and emergency room patients of all ages. Whereas x-ray procedures constitute the majority of our service, we also provide related quality control (including protecting patients and staff from harmful radiation), quality assurance monitoring and evaluation, marketing and continuing education of staff and patients. Radiology is comprises of licensed technologists, certified and licensed nuclear medicine technologists, secretarial staff and licensed radiologists.

Previous experience in all areas of Radiologic technology, in a hospital setting.

Certified by the ARRT required, except those technologists credentialed through state certification which the State of Vermont Board of Radiologic Technology delegates approval power by rule and hired prior to January 1, 2000.
Moderate amount of lifting patients and equipment.
Must be able to perform tasks with require moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard, writing and filing for extended periods of time, must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such a data entry, copying and developing films.
Potential for exposure to electrical and radiation hazards, electromagnetic radiation as in CRT's.
On-the-job time is spent in the following physical activities.
