Description:
The position involves working three 12-hour night shifts.
Staff are required to float to similar units if needed.
Medication system utilized is Omnicell.
Candidates must have BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
An active RN license is mandatory.
A minimum of one year of medical-surgical or telemetry experience is required.
First-time travelers may be considered based on experience.
The unit performs special procedures such as post-heart catheterization and bedside procedures like dialysis catheter placement, thoracentesis, and incision and drainage.
Patient ratios are 6 patients during the day shift and 7 patients during the night shift.
The facility supports interdisciplinary services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
The patient demographic includes adults and geriatrics.
Daily census is typically around 30 patients in a 30-bed unit.
Travelers must be willing to float as necessary due to census concerns.
All assignments will require competencies in the tasks performed.
