Occupational Therapist
The Occupational Therapist works autonomously to deliver occupational therapy treatment either through referral or direct to consumer. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, assessing patients, and monitoring progress toward treatment goals. The therapist ensures patient needs are met through access to care, patient experience, and quality of care metrics, and assists in program development and enhancement to meet patient and community needs.

Responsibilities
Perform evaluations and provide treatment programs to facilitate patient‑specific goals.
Assess the patient’s response to treatment and recommend treatment plan changes as appropriate.
Maintain patient records according to documentation standards, policies, and procedures.
Attain established productivity levels set forth by administration, including access to care, patient experience, and quality metrics.
Assist in program development and enhancement to meet patient and community needs.
Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, introducing the patient appropriately, adapting explanation of services, and requesting permissions while adapting communication style.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
No prior work experience required.

Certifications
Current occupational therapy license in the state of practice, or eligibility for licensure by examination, or reciprocity from another state.
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
Excellent judgment and decision‑making skills to deal with a variety of patients and diagnoses.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain flexible with fluctuating schedules based on patient demand.

Physical and Environmental Demands
Requires the ability to perform physical tasks such as moving objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 50 pounds frequently, and to perform routine tasks in a patient care area with exposure to blood, body fluids, and potential communicable diseases. The role may involve hazardous medications or waste handling.
