Radiology Technologist
Join our team at Akron General, Cleveland Clinic's only Level One Trauma Center, where you'll have the opportunity to work alongside a dynamic and highly skilled group of technologists in an environment that fosters collaboration and innovation. As part of our team, you'll gain experience across a wide range of critical areas, including diagnostic imaging, surgery, trauma care, emergency department, and portable imaging. You'll be an integral part of a world-class healthcare facility, where your expertise will make a real difference in patient care. Radiology Technologists use x-ray equipment to obtain images of the body interpreted by a Radiologist and are responsible for preparing patients for the exam, moving and instructing the patient into the proper position, correctly operating the equipment, and obtaining a high-quality image while minimizing radiation dose to the patient. Radiology Technologists may go on to specialize in more specific imaging techniques such as bone densitometry, cardiovascular-interventional radiography, computer tomography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear medicine.
A caregiver in this position works evening/night rotation, 6:30 pm—7:00 am or 10:30pm—7:00am.
Adjust and control complex electronic equipment in applying ionizing radiation for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations.
Calculate and select appropriate equipment and technical factors such as proper type of film and number of kilovolts or milliamperes.
Maintain working condition of all equipment and report any malfunctions or needs for adjustments to appropriate personnel.
Assist in maintaining sanitary condition of radiology area.
Comply with all Radiology information system entry requirements for accurate patient, film, supply, tracking monitors.
Complete mandatory education and training to maintain organization and department-specific competencies and requirements
Registered Radiographer (R) with American Registry of Radiology Technologists
Current Radiology state license
One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist

Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
