- The facility is an inpatient rehabilitation unit with 15 beds.
There are 18 staff members, including a charge nurse who takes a full patient load, along with 2 RNs and 1 CNA during the day shift.
Night shifts consist of 1 charge nurse, 2 RNs, and 1 CNA.
The unit has a patient ratio of 5:1, with a maximum of 6:1.
Equipment used includes vital sign machines, transfer equipment such as hoyer lifts and sliding boards, EKG machines, and bladder scanners.
The electronic medical record system utilized is Meditech, along with Pyxis for medication management.
Candidates must possess transfer training and be proficient in EMR.
Preferred skills include experience in rehabilitation and knowledge of rehabilitation scoring documentation.
Typical procedures performed in the unit include patient transfers, bladder scans, dressing changes, and medication administration.
Floating areas may include Med-Surge, Telemetry, Renal, Urology, Orthopedic, and Overflow units.
Bedside report and hourly rounding are required.
Staff are expected to ensure bed alarm activation and serve every other weekend and holiday.
On-call duties are seldom required, unless the overall hospital census is low.
