Job Summary: The registered nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice to meet the needs of the patient and family. The RN is accountable for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The ANA Nursing along with Wisconsin State Statutes: Scope and Standards of Practice provide a basis for the practice of the RN. The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role and quality improvement efforts. The RN delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and adequacy of resources. The RN must possess excellent communication skills; and participate on committees or projects.
Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
Provides skilled nursing care in accordance with Nurse Practice acts.
Followsthe Standards of Nursing Care as well as the Nursing Process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation while delivering high quality patient care. Performs and documents, timely and accurate patient assessments as outlined in Nursing Standards of Care
Provides and documents patient care as outlined in the Nursing Standards of Care
Plans, implements, and documents a focused care plan with goals for each patient.
Participates in the interdisciplinary plan of care.
Demonstrates quality by administering medications based on nursing standards and OMC policy.

Continually strives to exceed patient experience standards in all interactions with customers, which includes patients, visitors, organization team members, and medical staff Demonstrates a team/collaborative approach with colleagues.

Prioritizes patient care based on individual, departmental, and overall hospital patient needs.

Knowledge of current nursing practices and technical skills
Provide age appropriate and culturally appropriate care
Skilled in use of basic patient care equipment and supplies
Administer medications as required by WI State Nursing guidelines
Maintain timely and accurate documentation via facility policy and procedure
Knowledge of infection control practices and their relation to patient care outcomes
Assess multiple systems, develop plans of care, provide intervention and education, and assess outcomes of patient care
Delegate to appropriate care team members
Participate in department or organization quality improvement projects
Walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching (above shoulders and below waist) throughout the shift.
Ability to lift, pull, push, and support at least 25-50 pounds, such as moving equipment, repositioning patients, or assisting with ambulation.
Fine Motor Skills: Precise hand-eye coordination for tasks like handling syringes, inserting catheters, manipulating small equipment, and typing.
