Role Description This is a full-time Mortgage Loan Officer role based in Somerville, NJ, structured as a hybrid position that combines on-site work at the local mortgage center with some work-from-home flexibility. The Mortgage Loan Officer will cultivate and manage relationships with borrowers, real estate professionals, and referral partners to generate and close residential mortgage loans. The role also involves staying current on mortgage products, rates, and regulatory requirements, presenting suitable loan options, and delivering clear, responsive customer service throughout the loan lifecycle. The Mortgage Loan Officer is expected to meet production goals while maintaining compliance with company policies, lending guidelines, and applicable laws.
Strong knowledge of the Mortgage Industry and Mortgage Lending practices, including familiarity with conventional and government loan products.
Experience working as Loan Officers or in a closely related mortgage origination role, with a track record of meeting or exceeding production goals.
Excellent Customer Service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and a consultative approach to guiding borrowers through the process.
Relevant licenses or registrations as required by state and federal regulations (e.g., NMLS registration); Strong sales, networking, and relationship-building abilities with real estate agents, builders, and other referral partners.
Proficiency with loan origination systems and basic office software; Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, managing time independently and collaborating with team members both on-site and remotely.
