For over five decades, New York Psychotherapy and Counseling Center (NYPCC) has been one of New York's leading community mental health organizations, delivering innovative, compassionate care through both in-person and telehealth services. Certified Recovery Peer Advocates (CRPA) are required to possess an OASAS approved certification as a peer advocate. Support the clinical team by facilitating connections between patients and additional recovery resources, enhancing patient understanding through education about community services.
Deliver nonclinical crisis assistance to individuals undergoing treatment.
Contribute personal or relevant anecdotes on addiction and recovery to foster relatability and empathy.
Engage in regular staff meetings, contribute to case reviews, and actively participate in supervision sessions.
Conduct informative sessions and training for NYPCC staff, spotlighting emerging recovery trends and resources.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Successful fulfillment of at least 46-hours of training programs for Recovery Peer Advocates, covering areas such as advocacy, mentoring, education, recovery and wellness, and ethical responsibilities accepted by the New York State Certification Board and OASAS.
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday (onsite)
