Travel Nurse Job Details
Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,210–$2,330

Healthcare Setting: Community hospital Emergency Department with a Level II trauma environment

Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 2, 2027

Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week

Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts

Shift Times: Variable start times between 11:00 a.m. day shifts approximately 11:00 a.m.–11:30 p.m. or mid shifts approximately 3:00 p.m.–Approximately 4 patients per nurse

Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend

Electronic Medical Record: Epic

Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California

At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department or emergency room nursing experience

Previous community hospital experience required

Strong emergency assessment, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills

Experience caring for patients across the lifespan in a high-volume emergency setting

Ability to work 12-hour shifts and participate in every-other-weekend coverage

Emergency Department Nurse Responsibilities
Provide safe, compassionate, and timely nursing care to emergency patients across all age groups

Perform rapid triage, focused assessments, reassessments, and ongoing patient monitoring

Manage patients experiencing trauma, stroke symptoms, cardiac emergencies, respiratory distress, overdose, psychiatric crises, seizures, burns, and other acute conditions

Administer emergency medications, blood products, IV medications, vasopressors, sedation, and other prescribed therapies

Care for patients requiring ventilator support, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, central line care, and continuous sedation or paralysis

Perform or assist with procedures including IV starts, phlebotomy, 12-lead EKGs, splint application, procedural sedation monitoring, and airway support

Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and collaborate with providers, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and other members of the care team

Support a safe, respectful environment while caring for patients with behavioral health needs or violent behavior
