Part time Mental Health Direct Support Professional

As a Residential Skills Instructor or Awake Overnight staff, you provide essential support and companionship to individuals who need help with daily activities in a residential home.

Methuen, MA (Group home setting)

Part Time - less than 25 hours per week.

Sundays 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Non‑exempt full‑time/part‑time positions. Hourly rate: $21.00. You will be a union member of SEIU Local 509.

Group Home Details
You will assist 4 individuals aged 22 and up with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as feeding, cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene assistance, documentation, and medication administration. You will transport individuals to appointments and community activities in a wheelchair van. During overnight hours you will remain alert, conduct routine wellness checks, and provide personal care support including toileting assistance and brief changes as needed.

Assist individuals with daily living activities such as personal hygiene assistance, bathing, dressing, feeding, grooming, transferring, and meal preparation.

Assist with heavy lifting and drive wheelchair‑accessible company vans to transport individuals to appointments, community events, or recreational activities.

Complete Individual Support Plans (ISP) to help individuals achieve personal goals and promote independence.

Complete daily logs and notes, track behavioral data.

Provide companionship, mentorship, and redirect behavior.

Maintain the program’s staff‑to‑resident ratio, manage money, provide home management, and redirect behavior.

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to accurately follow care plans, document services provided, and communicate with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.

Experience in providing training, case management and appropriate service delivery to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in the community.

training provided by Waystone to acquire certification within six months of employment.

CPR/First Aid certification; training provided by Waystone to acquire certification within three months of employment.
