Registered Nurse Weekend - Emergency Department

Emergency Department Registered Nurse
This is a 13-week contract position.
Straight Days 7A-7:30P, every other weekend and holiday.
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality, compassionate, and efficient care to patients in a fast-paced emergency department setting. The ED RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, provides critical patient assessments, and ensures optimal outcomes while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.
Responsibilities

Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients' physical and emotional health.
Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed.
Monitor and document patient responses to care and adjust plans as necessary.
Provide education to patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up care.
Triage patients effectively to prioritize care based on the severity of illness or injury.
Assist in resuscitation, stabilization, and advanced life support procedures during emergencies.
Operate and maintain emergency equipment, including defibrillators, monitors, and ventilators.
Work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members to coordinate care.
Communicate patient status, changes, and care plans clearly to team members and families.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
Promote and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff by following infection control and safety protocols.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Minimum of 3 years of experience in an emergency department.
Must have 1 year of previous travel experience.
Current RN license by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred.
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
