Job Summary: The Nurse Patient Educator I (NPE I) provides self-management support utilizing teaching/learning principles, strategies, tools, and interventions to develop informed and engaged patients. The NPE I educates patients/families and team members using the nursing process, knowledge and skills. Bachelor of Nursing

a) Registered Nurse; current license or valid permit to practice professional nursing in Texas.

c) Basic Life Support from a hospital- based American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross approved program.

d) Other certificates as required by unit/service.

Work experience: Two (2) years of work experience in a related clinical area of practice. One (1) year patient education experience.

Language Skills: Bilingual Skills preferred in other areas (except ACS)
