This position involves 12-hour night shifts in a medical-surgical/telemetry setting. The nurse will care for a diverse patient population with various medical conditions. Registered Nurses with a minimum of two years of experience are required. First-time travelers are accepted if they have at least three years of experience. The nurse will handle a patient ratio of 1:5-6. Weekend work is required every other weekend, totaling six weekend shifts in a six-week period. The nurse will specialize in surgical patients whose care follows Enhanced Recovery after Surgery protocols. They will float to other medical-surgical/telemetry floors as needed. Candidates must have experience managing surgical patients and strong critical thinking skills. Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to adapt to different patient needs are essential. Additional competencies in orthopedic procedures and care are necessary. Experience with high-acuity patients and post-surgical care is required for this role.
