Paralegal for Real Estate Firm

The Axel Group is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join our client’s team in Somerset County, New Jersey. Our client is a highly reputable, privately held commercial real estate services firm with over 70 years of experience in property management, leasing, and asset management throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
With an extensive portfolio of retail, office, and industrial properties, the company has established a strong reputation for delivering comprehensive real estate solutions while maintaining a collaborative, hands-on approach. The Commercial Real Estate Paralegal will play an integral role in supporting the company's in-house legal team, with a primary focus on commercial leasing, lease negotiations, amendments, and real estate transactions. Draft, review, and assist in negotiating commercial lease agreements, ensuring terms align with company objectives and legal requirements.
Support commercial real estate transactions through document preparation, due diligence, title review, and coordination of required filings.
Assist with drafting, reviewing, and maintaining various corporate agreements, contracts, and legal documents.
Collaborate with internal departments on leasing matters, tenant-related issues, contractual obligations, and risk management.
Maintain organized electronic and physical legal records, ensuring accurate documentation and accessibility.
Monitor critical dates, contractual deadlines, and outstanding legal matters to ensure timely completion.
Conduct legal research and assist with preparing correspondence, reports, and materials for meetings.
Serve as a point of contact for incoming inquiries, coordinating communication with internal teams and external parties.
Provide ongoing legal and administrative support to senior legal leadership and assist with additional departmental needs as required.

Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in commercial real estate
Bachelor's degree preferred
Demonstrated experience preparing, reviewing, and negotiating commercial leases, amendments, and related agreements
Familiarity with commercial real estate transactions, due diligence, title documentation, and corporate legal matters
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and DocuSign
