CLINICAL PROFILE REVIEW (no prescreen)

Unit: Cath Lab RN

• suites/labs: 2 rooms. 1 mostly EP
• cases per day on average: 8

Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): BLS, ACLS
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: one room mostly all EP , other room fully interventional lab. no structural heart. no open heart at Mercy so lesser acute interventions only
Do they do EP & IR in the Cath Lab? EP yes, IR No. some peripheral procedures but no standard IR-type procedures
Are RN's required to scrub &/or sedate? Scrub would be wonderful but not necessary. Yes, all RNs must sedate
Experience or 'Must have' skills: EP experience is a plus and would be wonderful, but not required. Would not work in EP room if no prior experience
EMR/Equipment: Maclab, some limited Cerner
Cardiologist hours/on call: 24/7
Manager/Charge Nurse: We have a permanent RN Manager and rotating charge RN M-F
Cath Lab Techs: Yes, room runs with two techs per case.. RT and Scrub... interchangeable.
Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 0600 - 1830
Self Scheduling? No
Block Scheduling? No
Weeknight/Call Requirements: generally one night per week. sometimes two depending on staffing and need
Weekend/Call Requirements: weekend call rotation varies, approximately 1 weekend responsibility every 3- 4 weeks. Weekends are friday from 1830 to monday 0600
Holiday/Call Requirements: 1 team ( 4 person) on call on holidays , 24 hours
What is call response time? 30 minutes
Floating Requirements: Possibly float to Chandler regional
Scrub Color/Dress Code: supplied hospital scrubs
Unit/Department specific orientation: Generally 3 days.
Additional Notes: 3 person team for regular cases (1 RN, 2 techs) , 4 person team for STEMIs and call ( 2RNs, 2 techs
***Candidates will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving offer, through UNA, only (with 2 MAX attempts). If they do not pass in 2 attempts, they will be a DNU for CSH AZ and CSH Sacramento for 6 months.

PASS/FAIL Sim Lab on day 1 of orientation. If they fail, they will be sent home and made a DNU for 6 months.
***Cannot have worked in any CSH facility for the past 12 months/one year as a permanent staff employee (including staff PRN and seasonal staff).
