To support the Faculty Physicians Family Medicine Department, the full-time remote Care Access Specialist will manage patient registration by scheduling outpatient appointments, verifying patient information, and coordinating communication between staff and patients while ensuring excellent customer service.
Key responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions
Verify and update patient information to ensure accuracy for billing and insurance processing
Schedule new and follow-up patient appointments, manage referrals, and communicate cancellations to providers as necessary
Required qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Three years of customer service and/or clerical experience
Experience with patient registration processes and appointment scheduling
Familiarity with electronic health record systems, preferably Epic
Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating with team members
