RN - Pre-Op

Pride Health is hiring an RN - Pre-Op to support our client's healthcare facility in Houston, TX. Job Details:

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

Location: Houston, TX

Job Type: Contract

Pay Range: $54-$56

Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.

Duties:

Conduct thorough preoperative assessments to evaluate patients' physical and emotional readiness for surgical or invasive procedures.

Review medical histories, allergies, medications, and previous surgeries to identify potential risks or complications.

Coordinate diagnostic tests, including blood work, ECGs, and X-rays, to ensure patients are medically prepared for procedures.

Educate patients and families about upcoming procedures, preoperative instructions, and potential risks.

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans.

Follow infection control protocols and screen patients for contagious illnesses to minimize surgical risks.

Identify and address patient safety concerns, including allergies, fall risks, and other vulnerabilities.

Requirements:

License(s): Active RN license in the state of practice Certification(s) : BLS required; CAPA or CPAN preferred Experience : Prior perioperative or preoperative nursing experience preferred: 1+ years Skills/Specialties/Technology : Patient assessment, diagnostic test interpretation, accurate documentation, attention to detail, compassionate patient care, and excellent communication skills.
