This is a permanent position offering the successful candidate an opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, driving legal strategies and solutions that contribute to the company’s business goals and regulatory compliance.Role and ResponsibilitiesEmbedded Legal Business PartnerServe as a true business-facing insurance generalist, deeply embedded with the A&H business.Build strong relationships with senior business stakeholders across multiple locations and functions.Participate directly in business discussions, provide legal opinions, engage in open dialogue, and serve as a trusted legal partner advising in the best interests of the company.Regulatory Matters & Regulator InteractionHandle a broad range of practical, business-facing insurance regulatory matters and identify and advise on regulatory exposure.Manage regulatory correspondence and interact directly with insurance regulators and other applicable regulatory bodies.Facilitate and manage legal entity fraud training and associated reporting.Insurance & Commercial ContractingDraft, review, and negotiate commercial and insurance-related agreements, including NDAs and amendments to business agreements and schedules.Support agreements involving vendors, delegated authority arrangements, MGUs/MGAs, TPAs, and other insurance business relationships.Product & Claims-Related Matters & Business SupportAdvise the business on claims-related issues, including the application of specific state laws and regulations to particular products or claims.Draft and provide legal guidance on benefit clarifications and related claims communications.Support policies, insurance products, and broader product-related matters.Advise on advertising, consumer product issues, and other legal matters arising from the A&H business.QualificationsJ.D. and Bar Admission to at least one U.S. state3-5+ years of dedicated A&H, Travel, Pet, Stop Loss, and more P&C Insurance linesWider P&C insurance experience within regulatory, claims, product, corporate insurance, etc.Compensation & LocationCompensation:Up to $200k basePerformance bonus401k matchGenerous PTOWider benefitsLocations:Manhattan, NYCCentral NJGreater Atlanta, GAChicago, ILWork Mode:Hybrid 3 days in office2 days remoteWhy This Opportunity?This is an exceptional opportunity for an insurance attorney looking for a broad, highly business-facing in-house role with the ability to build out their niche insurance lines knowledge within A&H, Life, Pet, Stop Loss, and more.
