Registered Nurse RN PCU Telemetry Night Shift

Registered Nurse / PCU

Shift: 13 weeks, 3 x 12s, nights 6:45 p 7:15 a. Ratios: 1:5. Years of experience required: 2 years. Experience preferred: previous charge and teaching hospital. First-timers accepted: yes. Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed per unit. Weekends required: 8 weekend shifts in Saint Lukes 6-week schedule period, combination of F/S/S. Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. Skills required: work settings include MS/Tele, telemetry, cardiac telemetry, ER holding, neuro stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown. Cardiac monitoring and emergency response: interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, telemetry on the unit monitoring, telemetry remote monitoring, use of rapid response teams. Cardiovascular: post cardiac, angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery. Endocrine/metabolic: IV insulin protocols. Gastrointestinal: feeding tube care and management. Genitourinary/renal: pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure. IV therapy/phlebotomy: blood product, administration, central line care/management, phlebotomy, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs. Medications: heparin protocols, manage cardiac drips no titration, PCA, procedural sedation administration, titrate cardiac drips. Neurological/psychiatric: CVA. Orthopedics: peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacements. Plastics: surgical drains. Respiratory: chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, external CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy management. Professional topics and skills: isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac. Skills preferred: IV therapy/phlebotomy: accessing ports. Oncology: monitoring chemotherapy. Is on-call required? No. Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Yes, regular floating may be required between departments, units and facility as needed. Open to accommodating block schedule? No. Locals accepted: no, home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility. Pending license accepted: no. RTO restrictions: no more than 7 days. Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks.
