The CalSTRS Employer Services Division is seeking a motivated individual to work as an Analyst III on the Training and Development unit.
It is also the custodian of the members’ accounts from election to benefit/termination status. Over a million contribution lines are submitted monthly from participating employers and ES staff ensures the timeliness and accuracy of the contribution data.
Training and Development is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training to the county offices of education, community colleges, PreK-12 school districts, charter schools and CalSTRS staff. The unit is the subject matter expert in the Teachers’ Retirement Law and the California Code of Regulations that the division is responsible for administering. Under general direction of the Supervisor l, the Analyst III serves as the Training Specialist and subject matter expert in training and communication strategies and project management methodologies for the Employer Services Division. This includes coordinating with other analysts and subject matter experts, managing projects, and providing guidance to leadership and stakeholders on developing and researching training strategies. The Analyst III is expected to analyze, plan, and evaluate training programs and initiatives, and deliver recommendations that support organizational goals and priorities.
This position may require travel 15% to 25% of the year to conduct training analyses and engage with stakeholders.
Experience in training analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation
Knowledge of adult learning principles and accessibility requirements
Experience in legislative and/or systems applications training
Every 12 months, based on performance evaluation, employees may receive a 5% salary increase until they reach the maximum salary for the position.

Investment Branch employees are required to participate in the CalSTRS Personal Trading Program which allows CalSTRS to monitor employees’ personal trading transactions in order to reduce risks associated with insider trading, front running, and misusing material non-public information. Upon accepting a position within the Investment Branch, you will be required to disclose your personal broker account information and be required to utilize a personal broker from a designated list as provided by CalSTRS.
Prior to employment with CalSTRS, a background investigation (BI) will be conducted. The BI consists of a Personal History Statement and fingerprinting through the Department of Justice. The BI will check criminal and civil records and, if applicable, verify education and check driving records.
