Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU (Weekend Night Shift)

ICU Registered Nurse (RN)We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in a cardiovascular intensive care unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing critical cardiac patients and possess the essential skills and qualifications necessary for this demanding role.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor and manage patients with multi-system organ failure and cardiovascular issues.Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and thermoregulation needs.Provide post-operative care for patients following cardiac surgeries and interventions.Utilize advanced technologies such as Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps and Impella devices.Perform procedures including central line care and management, IV therapy, and phlebotomy.Administer emergency and continuous medications, including sedation and vasoactive drips.Assist with the management of patients on BiPAP and CPAP, as well as ventilated patients.Ensure infection prevention protocols and appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Conduct assessment and interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) and provide suctioning as needed.Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide optimal patient care and outcomes.QualificationsActive Illinois nursing license.Current certifications in CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS.Minimum of 3 years of experience in a cardiovascular intensive care unit.Proven experience with Epic or similar electronic health record systems.Ability to pass an EKG test with a score of 80% or higher.Schedule and OrientationThis position requires the ability to work 12-hour night shifts.Weekend shifts are mandatory every other weekend.Availability to work on designated holidays, including Memorial Day.Orientation will consist of 8 hours of non-billable training to enhance job readiness.May be required to float to other critical care units as needed.If you are a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse looking to join a dynamic healthcare team, we encourage you to apply and be part of our commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
