Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgery - Night Shift

Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.
• 3 months of travel experience is required.
• Experience with Epic is required.
• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.
• ADN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live 40 miles from facility to be submitted.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.
• No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Deaconess Health.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: - Strong cardiac/tele experience required. - Recent Epic charting experience required. - Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation; recovery of heart caths (femoral/TR bands); PIV insertion; chest tube/indwelling drain management; drip management (cardiac-cardizem, amio, etc.; other-heparin, lasix, protonix, etc.); CBI; detox/CIWA protocol experience; central line care.
Required Credentials: - Associate degree or certificate.
Unit Details: - Post-cardiac procedure population, including heart cath, ablation, and pacemaker patients; also A-fib RVR, ESRD, CHF, sepsis, tracheostomies, nephrostomy tubes/CBI/renal biopsy, and behavioral health/detox. - Ratio: Days 1:4-5; NOCs 1:6-7; charge nurse takes a patient assignment. - Teaching hospital; may require precepting of students and new hires.
Shift & Scheduling: - Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday. - Orientation-week hours may vary. Weekly hours may be reduced during holidays when the unit is closed.
Floating Requirements: - First to float within skillset. Deaconess Midtown (IN) campus (8 miles apart) and potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY – 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross-campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross-campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.
14 days maximum time off
1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months
