Job Description

Phlebotomist II - Peekskill, NY, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with rotational weekends.

Pay range: $24.51 - $29.12 per hour. Salary offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications and market factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for an annual performance bonus.

Responsibilities

Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.

Administer oral solutions according to training.

Research test/client information and confirm and verify all orders using lab technology, client contact, and approved tools.

Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.

Obtain identification, enter billing information, and collect payments when required, following corporate policies.

Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required.

Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones and using email as appropriate.

Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.

Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.

Maintain phlebotomy logs, including maintenance logs and temperature logs, in a timely manner.

Complete online and in-person training courses on time.

Qualifications

Three years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Keyboard/data entry experience.

Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.

Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, if applicable.

High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Ability to effectively communicate in English.
