Production Machinist (Manufacturing)

CNC MachinistThe CNC machinist sets up, writes programs, and safely operates computer numerical control machines for a variety of organizational manufacturing needs. While operating the machine, the machinist will identify and correct malfunctions in machine operations (such as worn or damaged cutting tools). The position produces batches of various lot sizes, communicates with co-workers and lead regarding productions runs, follows quality protocols and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment.Hours: Monday-Thursday 5AM-3:30PM. Friday hours may be required based on production needs - Currently we are requiring Friday 5AM-3:30PM.Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility:Utilizes various types of manual, numerically controlled, and computerized machine shop equipment to perform machining operationsSets up and operates a variety of machines including but not limited to lathes, mills, threading, hobbing and broaching eq., to perform multiple machining operations and ensure the proper utilization of equipment and materialMaintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety proceduresAdheres to company quality protocols and processesPerform job duties in an ethical, professional manner which is consistent with the H&S handbookPerforms other related duties as assigned by managementPerform duties with safety first quality mind setSkills and Abilities:Ability to work with minimal supervisionSimultaneously run multiple machines making a variety of partsUnderstanding of tooling, feeds and speeds to insure efficient operation of equipmentGeneral knowledge and understanding of forming partsCommitment to excellence and high standardsStrong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skillsAbility to manage priorities and workflowVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasmAcute attention to detailProven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlinesAbility to understand and follow written and verbal instructionsRequirementsQualifications:One or more years of related experience preferred but not requiredKnowledge of proper use of measuring tools/gauges and cutting toolsUnderstanding and ability to read blueprintsAbility to conduct routine maintenanceAbility to perform basic set ups and operationsAbility to evaluate tooling conditionsMake adjustments for quality assurancePhysical Requirements:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
