Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Neurosurgery and Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery acute care unit
Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4 in accordance with unit standards
Work every other weekend and a minimum of 2 out of 3 winter holidays as required by unit scheduling
Float within scope of practice as needed per facility float policy
Document and manage patient information accurately using Epic EMR
Perform and interpret NIHSS assessments as part of routine neurological patient care
Required Qualifications
Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
BLS certification required
NIHSS certification required
Epic EMR experience required
Nursys verification required at time of submission
Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
BSN preferred
Prior experience in a neurosurgery or otolaryngology acute care setting
Experience with travel nursing assignments in a fast-paced hospital environment
