The Barnett Hotel, a restored Art Deco hotel just steps from the New Orleans French Quarter, offers an authentic New Orleans experience with curated events, live music, and standout food and beverage. Its versatile meeting and event spaces, combined with proximity to the Caesars Superdome, create an engaging environment for hospitality professionals serving both business and leisure travelers.

Housed in a historic 19th century Creole townhome built in 1832, Seaworthy showcases wild-caught, sustainably harvested oysters from American watersincluding the Gulf Coast, East Coast, and West Coastalongside locally sourced fish and game. Part of The Barnett Hotel, we are looking for a part-time host for the Seaworthy team.

The Host is responsible for creating a warm and welcoming first impression for guests. This role manages seating, waitlists, guest flow, and communication with servers to ensure an efficient and enjoyable dining experience.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.

Customer service experience strongly preferred.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational and guest-flow management abilities.

Professional appearance and friendly demeanor.

Basic knowledge of reservation systems and POS platforms preferred.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and create a positive first impression.

Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating charts to maximize service flow.

Escort guests to tables and communicate server sections effectively.

Answer phones, take messages, and provide basic restaurant information.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area.

Assist with menus, to-go orders, and guest requests as needed.

Monitor dining room activity and communicate with servers and management.

Follow company policies, safety standards, and service procedures.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
