Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the engineering, designing and estimating cost of projects and securing quotations. Will research, develop, design and test a wide range of machinery, both as standard products and with custom features, according to requirements of individual customers. Estimate projects including material costs and labor costs. Report equipment problems and unsafe practices. Attend engineering, safety, and production meetings.

Schedule job installations and expedite equipment delivery.

Supervise contractors and hourly workers on projects. Provide technical assistance to the Maintenance Department. Instruct new equipment operators and maintenance personnel.

Engineer and design equipment and systems; write procedures and equipment specifications.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred and/or equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Computer skills including CAD/CAM operations.
• Good mechanical, analytical, and technical skills.
• Good administrative, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to lead a team and coordinate resources to meet process improvement goals.
• Thorough working knowledge of plant engineering, industrial engineering, and tooling.
