1st Shift General Production WorkerThe General Production Worker performs manual and mechanical tasks to support the fabrication and assembly of foam and plastic containers. This role involves operating a variety of limited equipment and tools, following simple prints, drawings, and specifications, and ensuring products meet quality and safety standards.ResponsibilitiesPerform a variety of simple fabrication and assembly operations for foam and plastic containers.Pick parts and supplies from inventory according to instructions and production needs.Assist in setting up and operating cutting equipment, drilling tools, saws, glue applicators, assembly tools, drill presses, and hand and power tools.Cut stock materials to proper dimensions and tolerances as instructed.Perform gluing, taping, flame treating, and labeling operations according to work instructions.Carry out required masking and painting tasks to meet product specifications.Review product specifications for simple jobs and ensure work aligns with drawings and requirements.Conduct required tests, visual inspections, and dimension checks on finished and in-process products.Detect out-of-specification conditions and promptly notify the appropriate lead or manager.Follow safety precautions and quality standards throughout all production activities.Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient production and safety.Essential SkillsAbility to perform basic fabrication and assembly operations using hand and power tools.Experience operating cutting, drilling, saws, glue applicators, assembly tools, and drill presses.Ability to read and understand simple prints, drawings, and product specifications.Proficiency with basic math to measure, cut, and verify dimensions accurately.Comfort using a tape measure to ensure correct dimensions and tolerances.Ability to perform gluing, taping, flame treating, labeling, masking, and painting tasks as instructed.Attention to detail to perform visual inspections and dimension checks and identify out-of-specification conditions.Awareness of and adherence to safety precautions and quality standards.Physical ability to lift 20–30 lbs as part of regular duties.Additional Skills & QualificationsComfort working 1st shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.Willingness to work up to 2 hours of overtime daily as needed.Willingness to work some Saturdays based on client-specific orders.Ability to work effectively in a potentially loud production environment.Reliability and consistency in following instructions and production procedures.Why Work Here?You will join a reputable organization that is growing and expanding, offering the potential to transition from a temporary assignment to a permanent role. You will regularly work with cutting tools, drill presses, saws, glue applicators, and other hand and power tools. The standard schedule is 1st shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the expectation of up to 2 hours of overtime daily and some Saturday work depending on order volume. The work involves standing, moving materials, and lifting 20–30 lbs, requiring comfort in an active, hands-on environment where safety procedures and quality standards are consistently followed.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ontario, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
