This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Programming, setting up, and operating 2, 3, and 5-axis lathes and mills, EDMs, manual machines, and supporting equipmentReading and interpreting engineering drawings, models, and descriptionsMachining new or modifying existing tight-tolerance and high-value parts while balancing the needs for both speed and qualityEnsure product quality and conformance to engineering specifications.Implement and refine new manufacturing processesWork with engineering to document and standardize production processesCollaborate with engineering to develop production-ready manufacturing approachesWork directly with engineers to provide Design for Manufacturability (DfM) feedbackActively participating in finding solutions with engineers that meet design and schedule requirementsProviding excellent customer service to all current and potential customers within Blue OriginCradle-to-grave job planning and execution including machine and material selection, tooling design, part programming using CAM software, machining and inspecting parts, and communicating directly with customersAssisting with the identification and purchase of job-specific and general shop supplies, tools, and machineryWorking both independently and collaboratively within a team of individual contributors to enable every member to succeed in their respective tasksAssist with transition from development to production by working alongside engineering to successfully transition the productIdentify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiencyOther duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision.Minimum of 15 years in a manufacturing working hands on environmentMinimum of 10 years in CNC programming in NX, Master Cam, etc.Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.Extensive experience with Okuma or other CNC controlsExcellent blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.Outside processing knowledge (heat treat, plating, coating, grinding, etc.)Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.Extremely customer focused with strong verbal and written communication skills.Work off-shift, extended hours, overtime, and weekends if/when necessary.Exceptional organizational and analytical skills and a proven ability to drive complex projects with minimal oversight.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in an aerospace environmentExperience machining nickel-based stainless-steel alloys, copper, titaniumTooling and fixture designExperience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware.Experience machining tight tolerance, high value componentsCompensation Range for:WA applicants is $47.01 - $65.81Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDon't meet all desired requirements?
