Shift Details
Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
Candidate Eligibility
Permanent candidates from any facility outside of Swedish are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months.
Active compact licenses are honored at all facilities.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 2 years experience in a Surgical Cardiac Telemetry Unit.
Telemetry experience is required; experience with open heart surgery, vascular (groin) and radial band management, IV skills, and NIH is also required.
Optional: Experience in VAD and TAVR procedures.
First-time travelers are not accepted.
Certifications Required

ACLS

BLS

NIHSS

Epic experience is a hard requirement.
Unit Overview
This unit specializes in the following patient diagnoses:
Myocardial infarction
Rule out MI
Primary arrhythmias
Pre/post open-heart surgery patients
Vascular surgery patients
Coronary artery disease
Heart failure
Pre/post cath lab procedures (with or without interventions)
Stroke patients with cardiac involvement
Patient Care Responsibilities
Breathing treatments and CPAP/BiPap management
Chest tube setup and care
Blood and blood products administration
Cardioversion and defibrillation
Epicardial pacer management
Telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
LVAD and open-heart patient care (24-28 hours post-op)
Staffing and Scheduling
Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:4 during the day and 1:4-5 at midnight.
Weekend shifts are required based on unit needs.
Every other weekend availability needed.
Floating to similar units is required; flexibility is essential.
Qualifications
Previous charge experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience working in a community hospital or similar settings is preferred.
Understanding and experience in managing cardiac and vascular conditions are essential.
