Head of Operations & Business Management

Eaton’s D-IT Division is currently seeking an Operations Manager to join our team in Worcester, MA.

As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing, directing, planning and coordinating the manufacturing activities of both feeder and assembly sections to meet plant objectives and sales goals. You will determine the effect of production load changes on plant operations, adjust capacities to meet production requirements, review plant‑operating practices to maintain or enhance production and quality standards, ensure an appropriate working climate, and advise employees on company benefits, plant policy and regulations.

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do: Be in consistent contact with the Plant Manager and his staff, participate in planning and decision making concerning financial and operational problems, inventory control, plant policy, facility/maintenance issues, and staffing.

Operate and organize facilities and equipment in line with company policies and procedures and enforce safe practice standards, maintaining a clean work environment.

Support the identification, development, and implementation of new manufacturing methods, equipment, material planning, quality improvement, and Lean and Six Sigma methods.

Provide coaching, motivation, and counseling to supervisors and direct reports to encourage optimum performance and continued skill development.

Be accountable for daily operational performance indicators, taking appropriate actions to ensure safety, quality, schedule, cost, and productivity goals are met.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an Operations or Manufacturing environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business.

Master’s degree or MBA from an accredited institution.

Experience with Lean/Six Sigma.

Experience leading Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Direct managerial experience within an Operations or Manufacturing environment.

General knowledge of Eaton Quality Management System (EQMS).

Applied working knowledge and experience with manufacturing procedures/practices, Lean/Six Sigma, safety and quality assurance, manufacturing/industrial engineering, inventory control, purchasing, and production planning.

Ability to communicate clearly to management and employees on matters concerning production, quality, safety, product design, etc., Experience with Visual Management systems.
