As a Mechanical Engineer , the goal is the position is to strengthen the Sensor’s market leader position by customer‑focused and goal‑oriented mechanical design incorporating time and cost targets. Continuous improvement of product design for performance, quality, manufacturability and cost.

New Product Introduction (NPI) & Mechanical Component Design

Develops mechanical component designs under commercial, technical specifications, and internal design standards.

Conducts advanced analysis, simulation (including finite element analysis – FEA, and thermal analysis), prototyping, and debugging.

Manages and executes Design Verification (DV) testing protocols, including shock and vibration (shock & vibe) testing, Ingress Protection (IP) testing, Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), and ultimate failure testing.

Manages product release, configuration documentation (including BOMs and drawings), and ERP updates.

Drives continuous engineering and Engineering Change Order (ECO) control.

Adherence to Engineering Processes & Quality Standards

Adheres to internal engineering design processes and quality management systems by maintaining:

Project documentation and design records.

Project timelines and milestones.

Peer reviews and structured design reviews (such as DFMEA).

5 standards (GD&T) and ISO quality standards (such as ISO 9001).

Project Management & Execution

Manages design project segments for standard series products, custom products, and product modifications.

Actively participates in system‑level and detailed mechanical design.

Creates, monitors, and controls project timelines, resource utilization, and product cost targets.

Provides hands‑on manufacturing support for product release, tooling development, testing solutions, troubleshooting, and continuous engineering.

Maintains close collaboration with manufacturing and operations to support strategic initiatives, including production automation and automated sensor testing.

Provides material support, assisting with vendor selection, evaluation, and qualification of alternative material solutions.

Supports Technical Marketing and Sales with technical product specifications, product customization, and joint customer visits for technology viability assessments.

Assists Service and Repair departments with customer troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis visits.

Technical Expertise & Competitive Intelligence

Serves as a source of technical expertise for the worldwide engineering group.

Performs competitive analysis and benchmarking of mechanical and sensor technologies.

Training & Knowledge Transfer

Develops and provides training to Manufacturing, Technical Marketing, and Sales on:

Quality Compliance

Knows and applies the division’s quality policy and procedures of ISO 9001 as it relates to the area of responsibility and the organization.

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or relevant experience.

Experience with electronic component packaging in an R&D environment within the Control or Sensors Industry.

Proven team member involvement in structured New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.

Demonstrated proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, with preferred use of Autodesk Inventor.

Hands‑on experience using a CAD vault system (such as Autodesk Vault) for revision control.

Deep understanding and application of ASME Y14.Project management experience is highly desirable.

Proficient in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to comprehend verbal and written instructions and technical documents.

Ability to make informed decisions with available data.

Strong customer orientation and active team participation.

Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
