Respiratory Therapist or RN - Home Healthcare

Deliver Care Where It Matters Most - In the Patient’s Home

Rotech Healthcare Inc. is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. If you’re looking for a meaningful role that allows you to build relationships, provide hands‑on care, and make a lasting impact in patients’ lives—all outside of a traditional clinical setting—this is the opportunity for you. In this role, you’ll provide in‑home respiratory therapy and clinical support to patients using ventilators, oxygen therapy, and other advanced equipment. You’ll be part of a team that values autonomy, patient education, and personalized care. At this location, this position pays $35 to $40 per hour, depending on related experience, and is eligible for a bonus opportunity.

Provides initial and ongoing phone contacts with all respiratory patients per Rotech policy and procedure

Provides in‑home visits to patients per Rotech’s policy and procedure

Conducts patient assessment per Rotech’s policy and procedure and the physician’s order Patient assessment may include but is not limited to:

Respiratory equipment use and maintenance

Physician’s prescription for equipment

Importance of compliance with physician’s prescription

Benefits of therapy

Potential adverse reactions/side effects from therapy

Sets up all highly technical respiratory equipment including but not limited to:

Other high‑tech respiratory equipment as defined by scope of service at the branch (e.g., Monitors ongoing function of highly technical respiratory equipment including but not limited to:

Other high‑tech respiratory equipment as defined by scope of service at the branch (e.g., Maintains documentation of all services provided and all work performed per Rotech’s policies and procedures

Assumes on‑call responsibilities for phone consultations during non‑business hours as outlined by Rotech’s policy

Adjusting ventilator settings according to patient assessment and in alignment with Rotech policy and procedures

Supports orientation and training of other personnel at the direction of the Area Manager

Deliver care in a flexible, patient‑centered environment.

Receive comprehensive training and ongoing support.

Instead, the Company will conduct an individualized assessment that considers the duties of the position, the nature and timing of the offense, and any evidence of rehabilitation, in accordance with applicable laws.

Compliance with healthcare facility credentialing process (when applicable for the position)

Candidates may qualify through a combination of education, training, and relevant work experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the position

Any education requirements mandated by applicable federal, state, or local law, regulation, licensing requirement, or customer contract.

Active licensure in your primary state of residence as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) or other acceptable medical credential (e.g., RC, RN) based on state licensure laws

High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferrred

Completion of an accredited program in respiratory care, nursing, or a related paramedical field

Experience in home respiratory care or home healthcare

Degree in respiratory therapy or a related science

Familiarity with medical terminology

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Ability to interpret and respond to various forms of communication (verbal, written, visual)

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Comfortable with email communication, internet research, and using office equipment (fax, copier, printer, phone, computer/tablet)

Ability to lift and transport patient equipment (minimum 65 lbs)

Regular contact with patients and equipment may involve exposure to contagious pathogens

Must comply with Rotech’s Respiratory Protection & N95 Mask Fit Testing Policy, including:

Medical evaluation and fit testing
