Position Overview
This role involves performing non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostic procedures with a focus on echocardiography and related cardiac testing. The technician is responsible for acquiring ultrasound images, calculating cardiac parameters, and assisting with various cardiovascular assessments including treadmill stress tests, Holter monitoring, and tilt table procedures. Patient education, preparation, and monitoring are key components of this position.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a safe and clean work environment adhering to safety and infection control protocols.
Acquire ultrasound echoes to visualize cardiac structures and measure parameters such as ejection fraction, wall motion, valve areas, septal defects, and thrombus.
Prepare patients for multi-lead ECG monitoring during exercise stress tests, managing treadmill speed and incline to obtain accurate tracings for physician review.
Apply and remove continuous ECG monitoring devices, review recordings for abnormalities, and correlate findings with patient logs for cardiologist interpretation.
Monitor patients during positional changes to detect fainting or abnormal heart rhythms using electrodes and blood pressure devices.
Complete non-invasive cardiovascular procedures within scope of training and certification, including echocardiography, stress testing, and Holter monitoring.
Qualifications
~ Minimum of one year of relevant experience; echocardiography internship experience may be considered.

Education
~ Graduate of an accredited Echocardiography program.

Certifications
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association Healthcare Provider program.
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification required.
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification preferred.
Successful candidates must pass a physical exam, drug screening, and background checks prior to employment. This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Pacific Northwest, serving diverse communities with a commitment to compassionate and high-quality cardiac care.
