Material Handler Warehouse, Immediate start

Material Handler 1We have an immediate opportunity for a Material Handler 1. In this function you will be responsible for loading, unloading and moving material throughout the plant and manually or by operating electric powered lifts.Pay Range starting at $18.00 an hour RESPONSIBILITIES:Move stock and other materials to and from storage and production areas by hand or other equipmentConvey materials to or from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, wheelbarrow, or other device.Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments, material and equipment needsCount, weigh and record number of units of materials moved or handled on a daily production sheet.Attach identifying labels to containers, and/or mark them with identifying informationStack or assemble materials into bundles and bands bundles together, using banding machine or clincherLift heavy objects by hand or using power hoist and clean work area, machines, and equipment using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds to assist machine operators.Assists other workers with specific tasks as requestedFollow plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or GMP'sSupports the Plant's Food Safety initiatives by completing plant required Food Safety training and by implementing / complying with the required practices.Follows plant safety procedures and guidelinesKnow emergency procedures and what to do in the event of power outages, machine failures, workplace injuries, etc.Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as requiredUnderstand and identifies Lock-out/Tag-out proceduresInforms supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediatelyActively participates in the D&W safety improvement process/activities, e.g. Hazard Identification, Safety Suggestions, Safety Teams, etc.BENEFITS: We offer a competitive salary & comprehensive benefit package which includes:MedicalDentalVisionWellness program401K with company matchSTD/LTDCompany paid Life InsuranceFSA (Medical & Dependent care)Employee Assistance ProgramPlus more!Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
