Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) evaluates suppliers based on their ability to supply product in accordance with MEC, MLS and customer requirements. Supplier Quality is responsible for eliminating the impact of vendor caused defects to Marvin Engineering and production through supplier management, rapid defect containment, resolution, and corrective action.
The SQE evaluates suppliers based on their ability to supply product in accordance with corporate and customer requirements. The results of evaluation and on-going quality and delivery performance are recorded helping drive decisions based on data driven metrics.

Provide guidance to Supply Chain and other internal functions in applying quality system requirements

• Maintain and analyze supplier score cards and raw data to inform decisions based on data driven metrics
• Generate weekly metrics to understand trends and performance of suppliers
• Manage Approved Supplier List (ASL) per MEC policies and procedures
• Improve supplier quality performance via implementation of get-well plans, milestones, etc.
• Attend daily Receiving Inspection huddles and/or shop floor meetings as requested
• Prepare detailed trip reports to document site visits, audit findings, and observations
• Conduct supplier quality system audits/surveys as required or requested
• Ensure counterfeit part avoidance and application of the Government/Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP) alert system with suppliers
• Communicate quality issues to suppliers as needed and help develop corrective actions
• Assess supplier capabilities through technical discussions and quality system assessments
• Conduct supplier site visits to deliver score cards, provide RCCA training, assist with the SCAR process, etc.
• Bachelor's degree or higher required (preferably in Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain)

• Understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings
• Knowledge of government and regulatory requirements
• Proficient in the use of MS Office; with emphasis on Excel manipulation of data and metrics
• Experience with Quality Engineering tools (e.g., Preferred knowledge of Full-Size Determinant Assembly (FSDA) and Digital Product Definition (DPD)
• Preferred knowledge of inspection methods
• Technical writing skills preferred
• Familiarity with SAP is a big plus

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

This position will require approximately 10 - 30% travel (out to suppliers)
