All shifts include a minimum 30-minute uncompensated lunch break.Knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures to perform nursing assignments of moderate difficulty and experience in assessing adult and geriatric patients, as appropriate.Utilize the nursing process as a basis for professionalKnowledge of a wide range of medical disorders/conditions, diagnostic studies and treatments, as appropriate.Knowledge of disease management and educationWorking knowledge of military health care system including TRICARE health benefits or a working knowledge of the principles of fee-for-services, preferred provider network and managed care/HMO organizations is highly desirable.Knowledge of a variety of pharmacological agents, to specifically include chemotherapeutic, immunotherapy agents, and disease modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDS), including the desired effects, side effects, andKnowledge of the administrative requirements for proper documentation of patients' conditions including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care.Job Specific Details and Tasks:Manages patient care requirements within the unit as well as coordinates with ancillary departments and outside organizations to ensure the continuum of care.Is accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.Performs a full range of nursing procedures to include, but not limited to: patient counseling and education, telephone consultations with patients, reviewing charts, intravenous fluid administration, oxygen administration, vital signs monitoring and recording, specimen collection, and other unit-specific procedures as prescribed by theParticipates in the orientation and training of newly assigned personnel, asParticipates in peerAssesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for adult and geriatricSynthesize data from a variety of sources and make appropriate clinicalCoordinates patient care through a continuum and facilitates the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness.Ensures compliance with standards of care, practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment Provides care within ethical and legal boundaries.Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for Assessment includes but is not limited to: physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, language barriers, age specific, and discharge planning needs.Assesses patients, including the ability to assess/evaluate/triageRecognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergencyCollaborates with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, pharmacy, radiology, and lab to plan, implement and evaluate care.Prescribes and communicates treatment plans in accordance with established clinic TelephoneEffectively communicates and collaborates with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family, and to meet organizational mission and goals.Excellent written communication skills to perform accurate documentation, both written and electronic, of all activity, including telephone contacts.Performs telephone follow-up, asSkilled in setting up, operating, and monitoring specialized medical equipment such as IV infusion pumps, oxygen analyzers, suction, vital signs monitoring devices, and other clinic specific equipment.Ensure medication/supplies are replenished and stored within regulatoryRecognized adverse signs and symptoms and quickly responds to medical emergencies asInitiates CPR if required and assists with providing ACLS measures whenProvides clinical oversite of all paraprofessionals involved in the provision of therapeuticEnsures for proper documentation and coding of procedures andCompletes orientation, competency verification, and educational programs in accordance with facility and unit specified guidelines.Serves and participates in committees, functions, and other meetings as Provides relevant and timely information to these groups.Assists with decision-making for process improvementParticipates in customer service initiatives, quality projects, and medical readiness activities, designed to enhance health services.Ensures a safe work environment for patients and employees in accordance with regulatory, infection control, national and local standards and policies.Assists providing nursing care in other clinics at the discretion of the clinic Medical Director and flight leadership.Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Experience: Must have been employed in an Infusion Center/Clinic within past 24 months with at least 12 months experience.Licensure: Possess current unrestricted RN License from any state.Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/Oncology Nursing Corporation (ONCC) Chemotherapy Biotherapy certification is required at hire or must be obtained within 6 months of hire. Security: Possess the ability to pass a government background check/security clearance.
