Head of Project Management

I’m working with a leading General Contractor delivering large-scale hyperscale data center projects in Alabama.
They are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong site civil and structural construction background to take ownership of major data center projects, with particular emphasis on site development, large-scale building construction, structural steel erection, and QA/QC throughout the construction process.
This is a 100% site-based travel position offering a rotation, with an established long-term pipeline of large-scale data center projects.
Lead the delivery of large-scale data center projects, with a strong focus on site civil, structural construction, building erection, schedule, quality, and safety.
Manage project teams including Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and trade partners.
Oversee site civil and earthwork activities, including site preparation, grading, utilities, foundations, paving, drainage, and overall site development.
Manage the construction and erection of large-scale buildings and structural steel packages, ensuring work is delivered safely, correctly, and in accordance with the design.
Provide strong oversight of structural steel erection, including coordination between structural engineers, steel contractors, erectors, and other trades.
Drive QA/QC throughout the structural and building erection process, ensuring work meets project specifications, drawings, codes, and client requirements.
Lead subcontractor coordination, performance, procurement, change management, schedule commitments, and overall project execution.
Manage project financials including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, change orders, and risk mitigation.
Coordinate with civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and other project disciplines to maintain overall project momentum.
Work closely with the owner, design team, consultants, subcontractors, Superintendents, and field teams to resolve construction issues and maintain schedule.
Drive project scheduling, reporting, quality control, commissioning, closeout, and final turnover.
Maintain strong client relationships and act as a key point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
5+ years of Project Management experience with a leading General Contractor.
Strong background in site civil construction and large-scale building construction.
Proven experience managing structural steel erection and large-scale structural packages.
Strong understanding of QA/QC processes throughout structural and building erection.
Hyperscale data center experience is highly preferred.
Experience managing projects valued at $100M+.
Strong understanding of scheduling, contracts, procurement, change management, project financials, risk, and subcontractor management.
Experience taking projects through site development, foundations, structural erection, building construction, and final turnover.
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage large project teams and multiple stakeholders.
Willingness to work 100% site-based with extensive travel/rotation.
