General Handyman/ Maintenance Person

Maintenance WorkerAramark Facilities Management is hiring a Maintenance Worker / Building Maintenance Technician in Taylor, TX to support daily facility operations and maintenance. In this hands-on role, you will perform general building maintenance, coordinate contractors, and assist with small facility improvement projects while helping keep the site safe, functional, and operating efficiently. Daily work includes troubleshooting and repairing lighting, plumbing, electrical, flooring, wall systems, and basic HVAC equipment. This position is ideal for candidates with maintenance technician, facilities maintenance, building engineer, or handyman experience who enjoy solving problems and working independently. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with participation in an on-call rotation, overtime opportunities, and occasional weekend work. Successful candidates are dependable, safety-focused, and able to respond to facility needs in a fast-paced industrial environment. Compensation: $24.00 - $33.00 per hourJob ResponsibilitiesPerform routine building maintenance and repairs across facility systemsTroubleshoot and repair lighting, electrical components, plumbing fixtures, walls, doors, flooring, and other building infrastructureConduct basic HVAC maintenance, inspections, and troubleshootingComplete preventive maintenance activities and scheduled facility inspectionsRespond to maintenance work orders and prioritize repairs to reduce downtimeCoordinate and oversee contractors performing maintenance, repair, or construction workAssist with small facility improvement and capital projectsUse hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment safely and effectivelyDocument completed work, inspection findings, and maintenance activitiesIdentify potential equipment or building issues and recommend corrective actionsMaintain safe, clean, and organized work areasFollow all Aramark and client safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirementsSupport facility operations during on-call rotations, overtime assignments, and occasional weekend coverage as neededQualifications Required3+ years of hands-on building maintenance, facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, or related experienceWorking knowledge of lighting, plumbing, electrical, wall, and flooring repairsExperience performing basic HVAC maintenance and troubleshootingAbility to diagnose and resolve common building and equipment issues independentlyExperience working with contractors, vendors, or service providersAbility to read, understand, and follow safety proceduresStrong reliability, attendance, and time-management skillsAbility to work Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, participate in an on-call rotation, work overtime, and occasionally work weekendsAbility to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, climb ladders, and stand or walk for extended periodsMust successfully pass a background check, including Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) reviewPreferredTechnical training in facilities maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related tradeExperience supporting large commercial, industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, or campus facilitiesExperience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)OSHA or other safety-related training/certificationsAbout AramarkOur Mission Rooted in service and united by our purpose, we strive to do great things for each other, our partners, our communities, and our planet.
