Freelance Producer - Virtual Events

WHAT YOU WILL DO The Event Producer is responsible for leading the planning, logistics, execution and success of B2B tech events (such as conferences, executive programs, partner summits) for one of the leading global cloud providers. The role entails high visibility internally, with clients, partners, and vendors, and requires a highly motivated, extremely organized, polished individual who can lead a team of producers and work alongside other agency department resources to deliver best‑in‑class event experiences.

Lead the production component of experiential events, while partnering with Account and Creative teams within the agency as well as the client, in conceptualizing, developing, and managing the execution of live events.

Build a thorough understanding of the clients’ marketing campaigns, values, culture, goals, and key performance indicators.

Collaborate with teams such as Account Managers and Creative professionals.

Design, rehearse, and deliver the expected event experience—including developing run‑of‑show, conducting technical rehearsals, briefing talent and crews, performing tech checks and walkthroughs, and live show calling.

Lead the on‑site execution of events, overseeing all producers, contractors, venue/partner relationships, and ensuring all elements of the event execution run flawlessly, on time and on budget.

Manage multiple event campaigns across various marketing initiatives simultaneously, prioritizing and managing time effectively to devote the appropriate amount of time to all projects.

Support account leads and participate in planning and pitching strategy, ideas, feasibility, and execution of live events for marketing campaigns.

Develop estimates and budgets, manage production budgets throughout projects, reconcile and close projects within budget; provide profitability estimates for all projects.

Conduct ongoing research on the competitive/comparative event landscape, staying knowledgeable of latest trends, technology, and event execution tools and resources.

Participate in regular status conference calls with the internal production team and with other agency departments, clients, and inner agency teams.

WAYS TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD Minimum 5+ years’ experience in hands‑on event production with medium‑to‑large integrated agencies and/or in‑house at client.

2+ years in a management role overseeing production teams, vendors, and freelancers.

Understanding of business finance, estimate development, fees and project profitability, forecasting, and staff costs.

Work non‑traditional hours (nights/weekends/holidays) as well as a regular work week, and be able to travel regularly.

Virtual desktop setup is required; no new software purchases are needed.

Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, project tools (e.g. Asana, Smartsheet), and presentation design platforms.
