Position Overview
Sedgman - FSI Engineering is looking for an Electrical Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona. The role involves electrical engineering and design development on heavy industrial projects in the metals & mining, power generation, power distribution, industrial, chemical, and manufacturing industries. The engineer will read, review, and sign off on prints, and work in a business‑critical role within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Perform electrical engineering design for heavy industrial projects and associated infrastructure.

Prepare electrical equipment specifications, datasheets, and scopes of work, ensuring compliance with engineering standards.

Develop proposals and conceptual designs for Pre‑F, Feasibility, and Detail engineering phases.

Work through the project lifecycle from concept to operation on domestic and international projects.

Liaise with internal and external clients, other discipline professionals, and stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate, and cost‑effective delivery.

Demonstrate high safety standards in design practices.

Qualifications

4‑year ABET‑accredited bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

Passed Principles & Practice of Engineering (PE) exam, certified as a professional engineer in Arizona (ASPE).

5-8+ years relevant experience as an electrical engineer.

Expertise in LV power transmission and distribution systems; solid knowledge of MV systems.

Experience in an engineering design/consultancy environment; experience in industrial processing, mining, or metals is an asset.

Foundational proficiency with instrumentation and control systems in industrial applications.

Self‑management of time, priorities, and activities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational skills, technical competence, and attention to detail.

Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
