The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered respiratory care in accordance with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. The role includes performing diagnostic tests, therapeutic procedures and monitoring patients on invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.

Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.

Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.

Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.

Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT/RCP-State) with NBRC‑RRT certification.
